FAQ

Answers to the questions people usually ask me.

What editor do you use?

Neovim, set up with LazyVim. I turn on its extras for the languages I work in most: Python, TypeScript, Angular, Tailwind, SQL, Docker and YAML. My colour scheme is moonfly.

What does your terminal setup look like?

zsh with Oh My Zsh and the powerlevel10k prompt, plus the z, fzf and autosuggestion plugins. ls is aliased to exa, git diffs go through delta, and I manage Python versions with pyenv and Node with nvm.

Do you use AI tools?

Yes. AI is a tool like any other, and I think every developer should learn it; a good engineer doesn’t leave a good tool unused. The ones I’ve worked with include Claude, Cursor, Codex and AnythingLLM, and in Neovim I use LazyVim’s Claude Code and Sidekick integrations.

Do you play games?

I’ve always loved video games, especially MMOs, and tinkering with mods. It’s a big part of why I got into computers in the first place.

What do you build in your spare time?

Mostly tools for myself. The biggest is Subtracker, which finds my recurring subscriptions in my bank’s CSV exports; I’m its main user, but I built it like a production system. The rest, from a VS Code extension to a terminal game, are on the Projects page, and there’s more on my GitHub.

Where are you based?

Hamburg, Germany. I moved here in mid-2024 and work remotely.
